Recently our goods finished the testing by BV for the EN10204 3.2 certification.Mechanical properties is the most important composition of EN10204 3.2 certification because it is the direct index to measure the quality when use.
Test items of mechanical properties contains tensile strength,yield strength,elongation,hardness and impact performance.
Tensile strength is the maximum carrying capacity of metal under static tension.Yield strength is the strength to resist tiny plasticity deformation.Elongation is the index to describe the material’s plasticity performance.The larger of the data yield strength/tensile strength(yield ratio) which means smaller deviation between tensile strength and yield strength,the smaller of the elongation.
Hardness means the material’s ability to resist external hard objects pressed into its surface.There are several methods for the test of hardness:Brinell,Rockwell,Vickers,Knoop.The Brinell way is more often used way measured by HB.For the most often used ASME A234 WPB and ASME A350 LF2 Class 1,the maximum hardness is 197HB.
Impact performance is material’s ability to withstand compacting deformation without rupture.The material under ASME A350/A350M,this test is required.
