Lateral pipe fittings definitions and types

When the running pipe in a piping system need to add a branch,we may use a tee or outlets,the common degree of the branch direction is 90 degree which means the branch is vertical to the main pipe.

45 degree lateral pipe tee

Some time the branch direction is not 90 degree to the main pipe,maybe 45° or other degrees,then we should use a lateral pipe fittings to design it.

There are two types of lateral pipe fittings: lateral tee and latrolet.

45 threaded forged steel lateral tee

Lateral tee shape is like a pipe tee,the butt welding lateral tees are made from steel pipes or forgings,the manufacturing standard is ASME B16.9.There are also the forged lateral tee produced refer to ASME B16.11,the ends are socket welding and threaded.

latrolet(lateral outlet)

Latrolet shape is like a pipe outlet,and the ends(Pipe and fitting ends in piping system joint) could be butt welding,socket welding or threaded same with the outlets in standard MSS-SP 97.(Latrolet production and specification in Haihao Pipe Fittings Factory)
