Radiographic testing(RT),refers to the use of X-ray or gamma-ray penetrating specimens,film as the recording of information equipment nondestructive testing methods,this method is the most basic,the most widely used non-destructive test method.RT is often used to inspect weld of piping products,like steel pipes,elbows,tees and flanges etc.The obvious advantage of radiographic testing methods of testing is that it can help establish the weld’s internal integrity without destroying the welded component.
Principle of radiographic testing:
The ray can penetrate the invisible material of the naked eye to make the film photosensitive,when X-ray or R-Ray irradiation film,like ordinary light,can make the film emulsion layer of silver halide production potential,because the different density of the material to the radiation absorption coefficient is different,the radiation intensity irradiated throughout the film will also produce differences.
The defect can be judged according to the black degree difference of the film after the dark room treatment.In general,RT’s characterization is more accurate,with intuitive images for long-term preservation,the overall cost is relatively high,and the radiation is harmful to the human body,the test speed will be slower.
